Across the Bay
Standing watch at the water’s edge, the lighthouse in Across the Bay rises beneath a wonderfully moody sky of blues, violets, and drifting white clouds. The brilliant water, rocky shoreline, distant greenery, and rustic fence are built from layers of natural fiber, giving the familiar coastal scene a softness and movement that could never quite happen with paint.
Across the Bay completes a special series in which I created four individual fiber paintings that can stand beautifully on their own, yet when placed side by side become one continuous panoramic view. It is the final glance across the landscape—a journey that begins in the garden, travels past the house and pasture, and ends here, looking out toward the lighthouse and the open water.
