“Coastline Chronicles” offers a breathtaking panoramic view inspired by Menemsha as seen from Lobsterville Beach on Martha’s Vineyard. The piece begins with wet felting, where fibers are laid in different directions, then transformed with warm soapy water and steady friction into a handmade backing—the canvas for the landscape itself. From there, the scene is built through needle felting, as dyed sheep and alpaca fibers are layered, shaped, and blended like paint to create the shoreline, water, boats, distant buildings, and sweeping sky. The result is a richly textured coastal story full of movement, memory, and place—capturing the charm, color, and quiet wonder of the Vineyard shoreline.
