Refuge
Refuge is a little place to disappear to — tucked beneath a wide blue sky, surrounded by autumn color, and far enough away from everything that the day seems to slow down.
A small white house sits quietly in the distance, wrapped in rusty orange, mossy green, golden ochre, and deep woodland tones. In front, ribbons of turquoise and blue wander through the landscape, suggesting water, a winding path, or perhaps simply the way home. Soft curls and wisps of fiber give the fields and trees their wonderfully unruly texture, while tiny flashes of pink and gold peek through like treasures discovered along the way.
Created with natural and hand-dyed fibers, Refuge is less about a particular place than the feeling of finding one — somewhere warm, familiar, and just a little removed from the rest of the world.
Mounted in a rustic barnwood frame, the weathered wood feels like part of the landscape itself, giving this small fiber painting the character of a place that has been loved for a very long time.
